Spike Chair, 2013

A heavy rainstorm in the Philippines where the rain stood like "sticks on the hill" inspired Alexander Lervik to create the Spike chair - a chair unlike anything else.

Creating a comfortable seat made of rods became a challenge. By carefully placing wine corks on an ordinary chair, Alexander calculated how tightly the rods need to sit for it to feel comfortable. Both the shape and the number of rods have been added out of the calculation to create ultimate comfort.

The chair has been published in newspapers all over the world and shown in several exhibitions, including an installation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo.

The chair is unique and is only available in this copy.
